* The trailer-pull is a challenging ride that takes extra strength and equipment. You must provide your own bicycle trailer to participate in the event. Please note the trailer cannot be more than 64 inches long or 32 inches wide. We will provide you with the 100 pounds (the average weight of rescued food a DFR volunteer pulls) of gardening equipment (which will be donated to school and community gardens in our partnering communities), which you will load onto your trailer at the start of the ride and unload upon finishing the 30 mile ride. You may not ditch any of the contents of the trailer along the way!

** The Food Rescue Alliance (FRA) is a network of bicycle-based food rescue organizations all around the world. This year, three FRA members—Denver Food Rescue, Boulder Food Rescue, and Colorado Springs Food Rescue—are collaborating to bring you the second annual Food Rescue Ride. For more information on FRA, including how you could start a chapter in your community, visit www.foodrescuealliance.org

BIKE RIDE SATURDAY, AUGUST, 13 2015
This form must be signed by each rider (and parent or guardian for riders under 18) before the rider begins the ride. No rider may participate without a completed waiver, and all participants MUST WEAR A HELMET, or you will not be able to ride.
I agree that I have chosen to voluntarily participate in the Food Rescue Ride (FRR), and that I do so at my own risk. This waiver and release of liability includes, without limitation, injuries which may occur as a result of your participation in the FRR. I understand that I will wear a helmet and that my bike is properly maintained and good working order. It is also understood that I will follow all the rules of the road, I will conduct myself in a safe and prudent manner while participating in this event. I understand there are risks inherent with bike riding on public streets and highways where hazards exist. I also understand that there will be a large number of cyclists, some of whom are inexperienced, creating further hazards.
I acknowledge that I understand its intent, and for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators and representatives, do hereby agree and will absolve and hold harmless Denver Food Rescue, event sponsors, cooperating organizations and any other parties connected with this event in anyway together with their respective successors and assigns (the sponsors) singularly and collectively, from and against any blame and liability for any injury, harm loss, inconvenience or any damage of any kind whatsoever, which may result from or be connected in any way to my participation in the Denver Food Rescue Ride.
I consent to and permit emergency medical treatment in the event of illness or injury, including transportation to a medical facility, and will be responsible for any and all related costs. EMT’s at the ride will be volunteers and like any emergency that would require an ambulance, one will be called in the event of a serious accident.
I give the Denver Food Rescue permission to use my (and my minor’s) name and any photograph, voice or likeness of me during the event in any promotional materials or publications. I consent to and authorize in advance such use and waive my rights of privacy I have in connection therewith.
PLEASE INITIAL AFTER EACH STATEMENT. I UNDERSTAND:
I have reviewed the event safety information and will follow the rules of the event. I will wear a helmet. I will not be supported before 7:00 a.m. or after the route is closed. If I decide to leave the route, I am technically off the ride for that day and on my own in regard to support and safety. I will not drink alcohol or take drugs that could impair my ride safety.
I have read this waiver and release and understand its significance.
Participants under 18 years of age must have a parent or guardian signature, below:
As a parent/guardian I have read the waiver and release form above. I understand and agree to its waiver and release provisions, consent to the emergency medical treatment and will be responsible for any and all costs I have discussed with the rider the requirements to observe all traffic laws, to wear a helmet and adhere to all other event rules and to act in a safe and prudent manner I concur with representations made by the rider about physical capabilities and working order of equipment. I understand that an adult must accompany all participants under the age of 18 at all times.

        One more thing...

This ride is noncompetitive, meaning it’s not a race, which makes it perfect for families and cyclists of all skill levels. Also, helmets are requires.
